Delivery time of 4- weeks quite short for what I considered a “big job”.

Amount required to execute as calculated from by my Purchasing Officer was 7-figures (yikes!!) an amount which surpassed all the “pennies” I had in our 2 or 3 accounts the race to secure funding began and it was one story of disappointment or the other…… first it was about the turnover in the account which looked good to me but not enough for the bank. Next it was about presenting some certified true copies of company registration including the particulars of directors – What on earth did they need that for? I needed money and they were asking for names & addresses of directors. And to top it all, they required collateral, so I had to bring my then 78 year old mother from another state PHYSICALLY to attest to permission given to me on some assets and I also had to take her all the way the registrars of these assets, PHEW! What a journey to access finance….

As you must have guessed by now, this took time because I wasn’t prepared, I had to ask for an extension on delivery time which was the saving grace.

That ONE job enabled us move from a small Pharmacy outlet in the suburb to a highstreet location, thereby enhancing our capacity to add training to our revenue stream & gain better visibility.

What if i had missed the opportunity??? How would our lives been??????? The lesson is you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take ~ Micheal Scott.

In those days the options were limited, thankfully, my subsequent experiences were better, I had learnt my lessons on the appropriate company registration documentation to keep, how banks assess credit worthiness and acceptable collateral to present. I have since become wiser and more able to access various funding alternatives from Bank loans to Auto loan to non-collateralized loans and grants…..quite a journey, right?
